| What is Canon? - Wikipedia on the term 'Canon' wrote:
- In fiction, canon is the conceptual material accepted as "official" in a fictional universe's fan base. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction, which are not considered canonical.
For the purposes of this site, 'Base Canon' is the current franchise of Avenger movies. Iron Man (2008) The Incredible Hulk (2008) Iron Man 2 (2010) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) Thor (2011) The Avengers (2012) What? Movie-Verse Only??As much as I am sure the decision to set this site in Avengers Movie-verse will annoy those of you that are die-hard Avenger fans; there is a reason. Marvel has an incredibly vast universe and it would require too much work to decide which issues of which comic and in which timeline the canon information comes from. It is simply easier to consider the newest set of movies as canon. But wait... Base Canon?I have coined the term 'Base Canon' simply because this is only the starting point. Many different types of Superhero/Supervillain are invited to enter the timeline starting at the end of the most recent Avengers movie; the beginning of this sites timeline. More information will be added below as other characters bring their stories to join ours. |
